Welcome to Garry’s Mod (GMod), the definitive physics sandbox. Unlike regular games, there aren’t any predefined aims or goals. We give you the tools and leave you to play. Spawn objects, weld them together, create your own contraptions – whether that’s a car, a rocket, a catapult, or something that doesn’t have a name yet – you don’t need to be a coding genius.

If you’re not a master constructor, don’t worry! You can place a huge variety of characters in silly positions, pose ragdolls, and set up hilarious scenes.

The Ultimate Sandbox Experience

Garry’s Mod gives you an entire world of physics-enabled props, characters, and tools to manipulate as you see fit.

• Build Anything: Use the powerful Physics Gun and Tool Gun to manipulate, freeze, weld, rope, and attach props together. Create complex contraptions, simple structures, or just make a mess.
• Pose and Play: Spawn ragdolls and characters from your favorite Source engine games and pose them in any way you can imagine. Create funny scenes, intense dioramas, or anything in between.
• No Rules, No Goals: Enjoy pure, unadulterated freedom. The only objective is to have fun and experiment with the tools provided.

Garry’s Mod utilizes Valve’s Source engine. While it comes with a base set of content, owning other Source engine games (like Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2) will often provide you with more models, maps, and textures to use within GMod.
