The Forest is an intense, open-world survival horror experience where your wits, building skills, and willingness to fight are all that stand between you and the horrors that lurk in the trees.

True Survival Horror

Enter a living, breathing forest with dynamic weather patterns, plants that grow and die, and a complex network of underground caves and lakes to explore.

• Scavenge & Craft: Chop down trees to build a camp, or start a fire to keep warm. Scavenge food to keep yourself from starving. Craft weapons from sticks and stones, build traps, and fortify your base against the encroaching threats.
• Build Your Defenses: Protect yourself by constructing everything from a small shelter to a large oceanside fortress. Lay traps and defenses to keep a safe perimeter, especially when night falls.

Explore a World Above and Below

The forest is beautiful but deadly. Venture above ground to hunt wildlife and gather resources during the day. As darkness approaches, seek shelter or brave the dangers that emerge. Descend beneath the surface into a vast network of subterranean caves, filled with valuable resources, terrifying creatures, and clues to the island’s dark secrets.

Fight or Evade

Defend yourself against a clan of genetic mutants who possess beliefs, families, and morals, and appear almost human.

• Intelligent Enemies: Cannibals use complex AI – they will investigate strange sights, communicate with each other, make tactical decisions, and react based on fear or aggression. Sometimes they’ll observe you from a distance, other times they’ll attack head-on.
• Stealth or Combat: Use stealth to evade enemies, or engage them directly with crude weapons crafted from sticks and stones.
